Samajik Vikas Shodh Sansthan, Agra is fundamentally a scholarly research forum. Since 1999, the Sansthan (organisation) has actively shared and spread knowledge for the development of socially deprived.

Investigators working under the aegis of the Sansthan havepresented a realistic picture of the people in the countryside.

A number of our research affiliates have been awarded Ph.D.based on the research under the direction of the Sansthan. In the past, the Sansthan has facilitated financial assistance and research grants to doctoral candidates from the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi.

One of the prominent activities of the Sansthan is the organisation of National Seminars on the various aspects of social problems. So far, we have successfully organised four ICSSR sponsored National Seminars, where several resource persons and participants from different parts of the country have shared their knowledge and experience. Moreover, the Sansthan has published four issues of Vikas- a journal of research, dealing with social science, the humanities and science (ISSN 0972-7973).

The Sansthan has organised computer based, job-oriented short-term courses. This has helped in empowering marginalized youth to earn employable qualifications. It is important to note that these courses have been sponsored and financed by the Small Scale Training Institute,Govt. of India, based at Agra.
